It is a standard practice among professional sports teams to sell all or selected jerseys/sweaters through various distributions channels. This includes brokers that demand significant documentation and often challenge such documentation based upon video comparison. Professional Sports Teams desire to have indisputable evidence that a specific jersey, associated to a specific player, game, and location. This will allow for true certification of the provenance by a third party. These records should be available only to the Professional Sports Franchise until such authority is given for the data to be released.
Gleason Technology has adopted RFID inspection technology through its proprietary GleasonCCPi Windows Mobile 6.5 application deployed on a ruggedized handheld computer to address the above needs. CCPi, Critical Control Point Inspection, allows users the ability to track the deployment of jerseys and other pieces of equipment for league specific events and games. By applying a pre and post game inspection record, time and date stamped, cross referenced with opponent and venue, GleasonCCPi will provide real time data on the specific jersey associated with the specific player, league, and contest. Gleason Technology houses this base data in our CCPi data vault. The base data, which moves direct to web data base from the handheld, cannot be altered once entered into the data base.
